Marriage Zig-Zag — Teaching by Pastor Peter [Second Service]

Marriage is a platform to showcase Christ’s love. It's not about perfect couples but about allowing God's perfect love to work through imperfect people. In every test, tension, and tenderness, there’s an opportunity to reflect Christ.

Marriage Zig-Zag — Teaching by Pastor Peter [Second Service]

This past Sunday at Wordforce Christian Center, the second service featured an insightful and soul-searching teaching by Pastor Peter as part of the ongoing series titled Marriage Zig-Zag. It was more than just a message—it was a divine checkpoint for every heart in love, married, or preparing for marriage.

Pastor Peter opened our eyes to the reality that marriage is not just a union; it is a divine pruning tool. It's God's intentional system to refine character, deepen love, and sharpen purpose. Many view marriage as a destination of happiness, but through the lens of this teaching, we were reminded that marriage is a classroom where God trains and prunes His own.

One of the most powerful points made was this:

Marriage is a platform to showcase Christ’s love.
It's not about perfect couples but about allowing God's perfect love to work through imperfect people. In every test, tension, and tenderness, there’s an opportunity to reflect Christ.

We were also reminded that marriage is a typology—a mirror—of the relationship between Christ and the Church. That means how we treat our spouses should be a living example of how Jesus relates to His bride, the Church—with patience, sacrifice, forgiveness, and unconditional love.

Pastor Peter made it clear:

Marriage brings out the best in us, not the beast.
But it all depends on who or what we are yielding to—flesh or spirit. Every couple must choose daily which side they allow to dominate.

Here are four critical questions Pastor Peter posed to us all:

  1. Are you allowing God to prune you through your marriage?

  2. Are you practicing God’s life in your relationship?

  3. Are you reflecting Christ’s love in your marriage?

  4. What are you bringing out in your relationship—the best or the beast?

This teaching is especially timely for married couples and serious dating partners. It's a part of a broader effort to reshape how we see love and commitment, helping us avoid the common pitfalls that turn love stories into bitter tales.

At Wordforce, we believe in equipping lives with truth and grace. This series is doing just that—touching minds, healing hearts, and restoring hope in the beauty of God-ordained relationships.
